Man, 53, Dies In Crash While Passing Vehicle On South Jersey Road: Police

A Sicklerville man was killed when his vehicle crashed while he tried to pass someone, authorities said.

Preston Newbey, 53, died in the crash on Williamstown Road, the Winslow Township Police Department said in a news release on Monday, Nov. 18. Officers responded to the scene at around 5:18 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17.

Investigators said Newbey was driving west on Williamstown near the intersection with Lakedale Road. He tried to pass another vehicle when he lost control and struck a utility pole.

Newbey was ejected from his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.
